New Cycle Map for Bristol
Bristol City Council is developing a new cycle map for the city which will replace the current map last issued in 2000.
Work on the new map is being led by John Richfield from the Council's cycling team. It is intended that the new map will form part of a coordinated map system linking Bristol with Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucester in a consistent style.
Consideration is being given to the level of detail to be incorporated and the different surface and route categories to be included such as cycle Greenways, sign-posted cycle routes and standard roads.
An open consultation meeting is planned by John Richfield to be held at the end of November/early December to gather the views of interested cyclists. It is currently planned to publish the new map in 2004.
